Didn't see as much shading as I'd hoped

I wanted to try this ink in my TWSBI which is great for enhancing shaded inks, but this one just looked deep green, almost black with no shading at all. My search for high shading inks continues. But on the bright side, it was just a sample. I'm grateful Goulet pens sells samples like this because I would have been very unhappy if I bought the whole bottle!

My favorite green ink so far

I've been looking for a perfect green for awhile and this is the closest to a 5 that I have found so far. I would give it a 4.5 if I could. I also like Diamine Sherwood Green. This is darker than the Diamine - almost a green-black. It is very saturated, but shading is limited. Great flow. It's great to use at work because it's very dark. I think if it were a tiny bit lighter, I would have give it 5 stars. I plan on buying a full bottle soon.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
