The first ink I've loved enough to review

This ink has a glowing warmth that doesn't fully come across in photos. It flows just right, even through the diminutive EF nib of my Kaweco Liliput. It is a shade I would hesitate to call boring, business brown. It is dark enough to read by the pageful, but with just enough orange whimsy to preclude its use on official contracts. All in all, if you are looking for something outside the realm of an 8 Crayola box of boring that is somehow simultaneously somber and playful, this works great.

Rich tones.

The Copper Noir by Monteverde is a colour I want more of, the richness of the colour is very pleasing. It is not as super saturated as other inks are, which is actually something of a plus, I like the fact that it doesn't bleed through. Writing with this colour is a dream, it flows so very smoothly. I have tried other browns, but as I have stated there are tones to this ink, the depth of the colour when writing, and or playing with it, just draws me in, it calls to me saying come play with me LOL, it isn;t a flat boring colour, and I think it must have something to do with the quality of the ink itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
