I like the Lamy regular inks as they dry fast and are relatively inexpensive. The problem is though they are very faded and not a rich color. Ink is closer to a gray I feel than a blue/black. That is with my lighting paper and pen of course. I am glad I go the sample before the full bottle. If you are looking for a more subtle in I would definitely recommend, but don't get it if you are expecting a nice rich color.

I love the color of this ink. Not too dark. It's really a blue/grey color. It's not too wet. I am using it in my Edison Premiere 2017 Winter Special edition, Arctic Currents, with the black 1.1mm nib. The flow is very good, and as I said, not too wet. So it dries quickly. I will definitely be getting a bottle of this ink.

I personally like this color, though many find it too gray. It's easy on the eyes, yet different from plain black. Lubrication is good and dry time is excellent. It is a dry ink, so it doesn't pair well with pens with stingy flow, but will tame an overly wet pen. This is one of the reasons I bought this ink. With these properties in mind, it is a fine ink; my only complaint is that the formulation no longer contains iron gall, so it is not permanent. The included blotting paper for wiping the nib after filling is a little gimmicky, but if you don't have a paper towel or cotton swab available, it works well.

Perhaps I haven't been using the proper ink type and am unaccustomed to how other inks feel. I've been using Parker Quink for years and find the Black/Blue a richer colour than the Lamy Black/Blue. I thought that I would try using it in my Lamy Al-Star; one I've had for several years. It writes smoothly however it isn't as dark as I would have liked.

Wanted to get a bottle of this before they change to the non-iron gall formulation. This is a lovely ink, with a sober colour quite suitable for business. It has very little showthrough on most paper, including the cheap paper I use at work. This is a big bonus for me, as I need a permanent ink. I may yet pick up a couple more!
