LAMY Black: Good dark ink but takes too long to dry

The ink is very dark, creating a nice thick black line even with finer nibs. One downside is that it takes quite a long time to dry. Even being right handed, I find myself smudging the end of the line above the one i'm currently writing.

Classic, basic black ink

It's a good ink. I was hoping it would be the same as the Lamy cartridge ink, but it's slightly different - less dark, but also dries faster. Overall a very classic useful black ink. I've been using it in a Lamy AL-star, so very compatible. Flows well. It's a great ink for the price point. Will last a long time. I'm not a big fan of the paper spool at the bottom for wiping the nib, seems extraneous and I don't like the plastic container for the paper spool.

Blotting paper

I really like this ink. My only problem has been with the blotting paper jamming when I try to pull some out. Not a huge problem, but a little frustrating. Would purchase it again.

Good quality ink

Smooth ink, easy starts, easy cleanup. No nib creep. Always performs well, my goto black ink.

LAMY Black Ink

My favourite part of this ink is its design. The bottom of the bottle is sloped so not a drop of ink goes to waste as it gathers in a convenient little dip in the centre. Plus, the paper that comes with the bottle makes clean-up a breeze. The ink itself is nice and consistent. As a bonus (it really shouldn't be), it doesn't stain my pen. I found that another black ink stains the white plastic of my LAMY Safari pink. Safe to say I only use LAMY ink now.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.
