Beautiful Ink

Bleu Myosotis is a lovely purple-blue ink that comes across as subdued but whimsical; a must-have if you love blue inks. I did find it to be a bit dry for my fine nibbed pen but I think it would be fine in a medium.

My pick for the 2022 COTY

I'm using this as my match for the Fancy Color Comany's 2022 COTY, and it's a really good periwinkle - not too blue, not too purple, just right. It's a beautiful shader as well.

Absolutely Beautiful Ink!!!

It dries quickly enough that smearing isn't an issue. It flows well. I love the colour change that you get as it dries. It goes on looking like a slightly less saturated blue ink, similar to Parker's Quink Blue, but, wait a few hours and it's started to get a more purple-hue to it. Wait overnight and it's this absolutely gorgeous dusty blue-violet. The exceptions to this are on Five Star Heavyweight Lined Paper and Staples Copy Paper, where it has less purple. Surprisingly, it takes on its usual colour on Five Star Heavyweight Graph Paper.

Muted blue color

I had high expectations for this color, but it ended up being less bright and darker than I expected. It looks like the color of a blue ballpoint pen--not bad, but there are other blue colors I love more, like J. Herbin Eclat de Saphir, which is very close to Bleu Mytosis but less of a dull blue. Bleu Mytosis is greyer, so I think it could be a good professional, serious color. Just not my personal preference. Other than the color, it seemed to dry average (I used it in a Faber Castell LOOM medium, which writes wet) and had a nice flow and hint of shading.

Beautiful!!

Love, love, love the color. Over time fades to a very pretty lilac. Very well behaved ink.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
