Diamine Stargazer - 50ml Bottled Ink
This 50ml glass bottle of Diamine Stargazer fountain pen ink was initially launched as part of the 2021 Diamine InkVent calendar, and is now a part of the regular Diamine Red Edition collection. This sheening dark blue ink features added shimmer.
This ink works best with broader nibs on high quality paper to really see the shine.
Due to the amount of particulate in this ink used to achieve the sparking look, you may experience restricted ink flow in some of your pens. We recommend shaking the ink thoroughly before filling and gently rolling the pen in your hands often to keep the shimmer effect consistent. This will also help prevent clogging. You will also want to be diligent about cleaning and maintaining your pen when using this ink.

This ink is a lot more subtle than I was expecting, and is flowing very liberally from my medium nib. It's difficult to tell whether it's black, blue or purple on the page. There is a slight shimmer to the ink, it reminds me of the old ballpoint pens that had a slight shine to them.
This is from time to time my favorite ink. On Rhodia, with a wet nib (Omniflex) it has a shimmer that you see at various angles. I really thought it had no sheen, then someone asked, how is that ink still wet? and there was the sheen. It's like an oil slick, but clean. Subtle and cheerful, for a blue-black? ink. It's been sitting in a Regatta for several months, given no attention except the rolling as I use the pen. The first few words are low shimmer, but it hits its stride quickly. Don't trust my specs; I don't know inks, just know what I like.
