Vibrant color

To my humble eye, this is a very close match to the anniversary Blue Velvet. Rich and vibrant.

Vibrant Ink Color

I was pleasantly surprised by this color and want a full bottle. It is vibrant but can be used in a work setting. I like all of the Diamine ink colors which I've tried so far. Thank you, Goulet Pens, for making it possible to sample inks before committing to buy a large bottle.

Well behaved

The sample of this ink was amazing. It has a deep dark blue as the base color with a little black creeping in when the ink is really wet. I loved using it and plan on getting a bottle.

Bold, Blue, and wet.

It's a beautifully bold wet blue ink that does take some time to dry, but it works well with my drier pens and that makes me quite happy.

Brilliant ink but it has some issues

A very saturated lovely darker blue-purple inkIt does have some nice sheen to itDrying time was a little longer around 25 seconds on Rhodia 80 g paperNo feathering on a variety of papersMajor issue is that it causes ink flow problems for me after 2 days of use in my M215 even with me making sure I tightened my cap on the pen. I had great difficulty with starts everyday after day 2 which only progressed. I'm not sure if it is due to it being heavily saturated or not but nonetheless this has been noted by other reviewers of this ink on FPN so buyer beware. Maybe it'll be better for your particular pen. If you want a similar color but less shading, less saturation and no sheen then try the J. Herbin Bleu Ocean.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
