My New Favorite Ink

I've been a fan of Organics Studio Nitrogen for quite a while now, but Ruby Blues has come along and stolen my inky heart. Normally blue inks have been a meh unless they're something extraordinary (or turquoise but that's another story). Ruby Blues has that "wow" factor for me. While other reviews go into all sorts of details like whether it's wet or dry or what pen they use, I'm going to keep it simple and say this is a gorgeous blue shade with reddish/purple zing and makes writing by hand enjoyable.

Looking for a Good Blue

So far, the Regency Blue is ok. Not sure I'd buy a whole bottle. I'm looking for a hefty and attractive blue, and I keep hoping.

New favorite blue ink

I like darker blues. Midnight blue, blue black, etc. This is a rich and deep shade of blue but it seems to have a warmth to it as well. I dont know how else to describe it. It is really beautiful. I writes wet (like other diamine inks I've used)in both the medium and 1.1mm stub nibs that I've used it in. It's not the fastest drying ink either, but i am left handed and still love using it. Despite an occasional smear. The color is worth the bit of extra care that I have to use being a lefty.

Gorgeous Ink!

I just love this ink. The color is a dark, very saturated (I mean Noodler's type saturation) but still clearly blue versus blue-black. To me it has a nice sheen with a slight reddish tone with a Goulet 1.1mm nib. I tried to immediately order a bottle but most US sites were already sold out, I liked it so much I ended up ordering from overseas.

Great sheen

Really liked this ink. Will purchase a full bottle soon.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
