Beautiful color!

Beautiful, serene shade of blue. I hope the sample size goes back to what it used to be so you can try one sample in a couple of pens that have different nib types before deciding to buy a whole bottle.

nice color but too dry for japanese pens

The color is a vibrant blue color, and it washed out easily from my pens. The problem I had was that it's too dry for it to work with my japanese pens like my Pilot Kakuno (Fine nib). In my TWSBI Eco (also Fine), it flowed well and it gave me a pencil like feedback when I wrote with the pen. Overall, I think it's a nice color that's easy to clean out of a pen, but I think it's better to use it in pens that use western nibs.

Typical Diamine.

Diamine inks in general are wonderfully smooth and leave a good solid, wet line. This ink is no different. It is a great colour, nice and vibrant. One star down because this ink is a bit tough to wash out of pens etc.

Amazing blue.

This is an amazing turquoise blue that is just a tad lighter than another of my favorites (PR Tropical Blue). I really prefer blues that look blue and not so dark they look almost black, so this will be at the top of my blue list.

Havasu Turquoise, my Favorite Diamine Color

Beautiful and elegant.... The sample tube of Diamine Havasu Turquoise was not stained at ALL by the ink...writes like a dream, whether in my Med-nib Waterman or my little fine-nib Hero.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
