Beautiful color with great shading

I actually bought this sample because I had previously gotten a sample of this in a random set and really enjoyed it. I figured it wouldn't hurt to have a little more. The color reminds me very much of Noodler's Blue Nose Bear, which is one of my all time favorite inks. I haven't had TOO much time with it, but as far as I can tell, the flow seems very smooth, and typical of Diamine inks.

A stunning color!

This ink arrived yesterday and is already one of my favorites! A decent shader, great flow, an overall great ink with a dynamite color.

Interesting, but not a daily.

I wrote the first page of a letter to a penpal in this ink. It works well with the pen I paired it with (a Parker Vacumatic). Zero issues with Moleskine paper and is a dream on Clairefontaine's Triomphe. My biggest issue is the color itself... strange, I know, considering I'm giving it 4 stars. It gets that rating from me due to its positive properties. It does shade going from light (yet distinct) to heavy and pronounced. The ink and nib combination makes the overall writing experience very smooth and controlled. The color... has its applications. I could see using it as an art ink (as I had a pan of watercolour very similar to this). With a brush, nice washes could be made and with a flex nib fountain pen, some expressive pen & ink drawings could possibly be made.

Nice colour

Great ink colour if you want a bluish green. Dark enough for everyday use, while being a nice change from traditional blacks and blues

Eau de Nil a kinder, gentler aqua/turquoise

To me, Eau de Nil is greener than a true turquoise and bluer than a true aqua, with just a touch of gray or black. It is not as in-your-face as a true aqua or turquoise and I much prefer it to either. While I wouldn't necessarily use this in a business situation, I think it would be fine to use in a friendly letter. It is a cheerful easy to read color.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
