I'm trying to find a replacement for De Atramentis Aubergine since it bleeds. This one has a similar color tone although has less red in it. It's a bit of a dusty grey-purple and is a little too dark and color lacking. It almost looks like a default color similar to how black, blue-black, and blue are common colors. Nevertheless it behaves well in a Faber Castell Loom w/ M nib. No bleed through noticed. It rights slightly dry but has no issues.

Color is darker than pictured, even in a relatively dry nib. Slight hint of feedback, good dry time, pretty saturated.

I hover around Indigo, but maybe entering into safe purple territory with Diamine Eclipse and Lilac Night (Love both), but this Damson is absolutely beautiful and draws you in to the beauty a little more purple can possess. Evoked emotions of calm and even a bit of tranquil curiosity. A very complementary ink into creative writing.Excellent flow and consistency and is wonderful at lighter hues/inkflow without being to light and having a bridled boldness in wetter inkflow that shows a poise in its assertive darkness.

Compared to my current purple ink, this is a drier ink with more purple tones and less grey. I think this would be a better fit for daily use for me (all the purples!) and I look forward to getting a bottle.

The color is very easy on the eyes. Dusty, darker-shaded purple. I keep it in a Pilot Metropolitan (F-nib) at my desk and use it on sticky notes.
