Astounding color

This is the blue I decided to go with. The color is especially vibrant, even in a ultra flex fountain pen nib (they expel ink more rapidly, and thus, leave a darker mark which in some darker colors, make them look pretty much black). The cool color shows up even on off white paper. And as usual, Diamine inks flow smoothly. In general: I am pleased we can get these in sample sizes so that the colors can be tested before committing to a whole bottle. The ink comparing tool at their site was especially useful in narrowing down which ink to try.

Beautiful Ink!

I adore this ink! A subtle blend of teal and turquoise, I will surely be buying a larger bottle!

Blotchy!

Boy. did I ever have no luck with this ink, which proved feathery and even blotchy on every paper I tried. I was using a Noodler's pen (and therefore a flex nib); perhaps a different, severer nib would produce a better result.

Good Blue Shade

Close to, but not as intense to Noodler's Eel Blue. Good flow and line, works well in the three pens I tested.

light blue bright

This is a nice, bright blue with good shading. excellent for flex nibs but maybe too light for office use

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
