De Atramentis Document Ink Urban Sienna - 45ml Bottled Ink
De Atramentis fountain pen inks are exclusively handmade in Germany by Dr. Franz-Josef Jansen, and come in a 45ml glass bottle. This pigmented brown ink is part of the Document series and is permanent and waterproof.
All of the inks in the Document series can be mixed together to create a unique waterproof color. Great for sketching with fountain pens!

Purchase DeAtrementis Document Urban Sienna to replace another brown ink for journal sketching that was not waterproof. Filled my fude nib fountain pen with it, and tested... Alas, it is not waterproof at all, so disappointed. Aren't all the Document Inks supposed to be waterproof?
I find most document inks, especially by DeAtramentis, to be on the dry side, and a little chalky in appearance. This one, however, I love. It's a saturated light golden brown, dark enough to see easily on almost any surface and on the wet side for a document ink. I've used up my Goulet sample and came here to order a bottle and am sad to see it's sold out.
The urban sienna is perfect. Ended replacing Noodlers 41 with this as I was looking for something lighter. As always, Goulet Pens is fantastic, I love you guys!
I have a lot of Document inks but this one surprised me. It isn't very saturated, but it shades beautifully. I just got a sample, and it leans more yellow than in the photos. It's been performing well with both JoWo and Schmidt nibs, no skips, clogs or drying out.
I purchased de Atramentis document Urban Sienna at the same time as de A's document Dark Red. The dark red is performing quite nicely in a vintage Parker with a stub nib. So far I have tried the document Urban Sienna in two fountain pens; a Lamy Joy with a stub nib and an inexpensive Sheaffer fountain pen also with a stub nib. It didn't take long with either pen to experience hard to no start at all. I have cleaned both pens - one after only an overnight fill and test - both of them had ink particles come out when I flushed them. I suspect there is an 'earth pigment' quality to this inknot sure which pen to try next or whether to just use it with a dip pen. Cannot recommend this ink, at least until I find a pen that is compatible.
