Nice color I just ordered a bottle!

I wasn't sure about the gray ink to begin with, but when Iused it it just ended up black except where I was running out of ink. There might be a good use for this, but I don't think this one is for me. This was used in an art project and I have to say the waterproof nature of DeAtramentis Document inks is always impressive.

Excellent!! I don't know what makes it permanent but it's very similar in tone to lexington gray but behaves so much better especially on the Leuchtturm paper. That being said it's WAY more expensive as well so.

This ink is similar in color to Rohrer & Klingner's Thea SketchInk; however, DeAtramentis Document Ink Urban Grey takes a long time to dry to a flat (read: dull) finish and doesn't resist water when quite as well when compared to Thea. For my testing, I used Tomoe River paper (though I imagine this ink may do better on other paper). I don't recommend using this ink for illustrating (especially if you plan on using water or water-based media within your illustration), but the ink may suit a typical writing experience.

I bought samples of both this and Noodler's Lexington Gray. I preferred this one; it's a slightly warmer color, with a bit of shading. Looking for something waterproof to use with watercolor sketches and this fits the bill nicely.
