By far the wettest ink I've used so far

This is by far the wettest ink I've used so far. The next closest is De Atramentis Aubergine, and even that is nowhere near this. To be fair, I was using a broad nib with it, but almost all of my pens have broad nibs and I was using mostly fountain pen-friendly paper (Leuchtturm and Black n'Red). I felt like the ink pooled as I wrote, and I also felt like the pen was slipping all over the page. However, interestingly, the ink was otherwise very well behaved. It dried smoothly and relatively quickly. It didn't feather, skip, or railroad. It bled through on most cheap paper I tried, and sometimes showed through or ghosted on fountain pen paper, but that's to be expected with an ink this wet, and I also don't like most top tier fountain pen-friendly paper, which it may have worked even better on. It wrote a wide line, but didn't spread -- not even as it dried. It dries a nice, vibrant, emerald green. I'll definitely pick up a bottle sometime, but ultimately, I decided to go with De Atramentis Dark Green as my main green ink. For a brief comparison, the latter is definitely darker, but still noticeably green, and it is still a wet ink, but drier to the point where it doesn't feel like I'm slipping as I write and it doesn't show through as much.

Only tested in stub and music nibs, but I love it.

I got a sample before I committed to a full 3oz bottle because I keep reading mixed reviews of both this ink and noodler's inks in general. I think I consistently see a pattern of folks not having the right expectations because noodler's has such a wide variety.Going in with the expectation that this would be a somewhat dry writing ink, based on numerous reviews, and preferring broad to very broad (stub, music, italic) nibs for colors such as this, I immediately fell in love upon first write. After working with it for about a week now, I am definitely going to buy a three ounce bottle. I'll try that with more pens and more nib sizes and return with more in depth insights, if necessary. The pink is light, yet opaque. You won't have any trouble reading it. Color photocopies come out more magenta but black and white photocopies do not capture the text at all. It is on par with De Atramentis document ink in terms of permanence and water resistance, as expected, though it certainly writes drier than most of those. De Atramentis document ink is my standard ink for all other colors, but this is my standard ink for pink. It is the only ink I use outside of that line, and it's earned its place. Some people mention a strong latex paint smell. I don't know about all that, though there is a bit of an odor. It's not a whole lot stronger than my other inks, though it is a bit stronger. You go nose blind to it pretty quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
