A true blue

I test with a metal-nib dip pen and found this particular color a bit frustrating: it is a true blue, not a blue-black, but it was not dark enough for my taste and ran a bit thin. Not ****, mind you, but I would prefer a richer color.

Nice dark blue

This color is a nice dark blue, with a lot of tint in it. The flow seemed just a little on the dry side in my Plumix stub.

Good color, dries fast but skips....

I like the color and got it today. The color is great however, it ships. I am using it in MB 149 stub italic. The ink skips: after writing 6-10 words it stops writing then writes, then skips...see attached photo..

Ink samples

I love the ink samples. You get quite a bit to try out. Very nicely labeled and packaged.

Dark Blue bordering on Blue-Black

I got this thinking it would be along the lines of my Noodler's Polar Blue... Because of the obvious standardization between manufacturers when using names that evoke thoughts of icebergs and white bears that eat penguins. That expectation was, thankfully, smashed. This is a very nice *dark* blue that doesn't leave it's blueness behind. The darkest blue I've got other than this is the Lamy Blue-Black and this is just as dark but all-blue.As much as I like it, I'm not planning on putting it in my daily carry just because it's... Well... It's just blue. A VERY nice blue, but I like more interesting blue for every day use.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
