2ml shimmering blue/purple fountain pen ink sample of Colorverse Witch by Starlight in a labeled plastic vial.

Due to the amount of particulate in this ink used to achieve the sparking look, you may experience restricted ink flow in some of your pens. We recommend shaking the ink thoroughly before filling and gently rolling the pen in your hands often to keep the shimmer effect consistent. This will also help prevent clogging. You will also want to be diligent about cleaning and maintaining your pen when using this ink.

It's Beautiful!!

This is one of my husbands favorite inks. He currently has it in two of his favorite fountain pens so he can keep one in his office and one in the living room!

Surprising

I wasn't convinced at first because I wasn't getting the ease of flow I needed. I'm glad I tried again, the result was lovely. And the slightest glitter effect when the light hits seals the deal.

Witch by Starlight - Bewitching

I am absolutely loving this color, and can not wait for it to come back in stock so I can by a larger size. Looks great in a Broad and Medium Pilot FP, I would not go narrower than Medium Nib.

It's nice

A very nice blue black shimmer ink. If you don't shake up the shimmer, you get nice blue black color with shading. Shake it up to write with shimmer and you get some silver/holo type shimmer. I tested the ink in two same brand nearly identical M nib pens. However one pen writes drier and one writes wetter. The drier writer clogged but was able to put out the most shimmer when writing. The clogs were infrequent but easy to clean. The wetter writer never clogged but did not put out as much shimmer as the drier writer. Overall the ink is not for me but it was a nice sample to try.

wonderful ink

this flows great in my Pelikan M nib, and the sparkle is fantastic. It clogs a bit, but a slow roll of the pen will clear it right up!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is shimmering ink safe to use in fountain pens? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Yes! Shimmering ink (a fountain pen ink that has small particles of glitter mixed in) is a great way to add some flare to your writing. We have found that a larger nib will showcase more shimmering particles while writing, but you can use any nib size with shimmering ink. While it is safe to use in fountain pens, it may require a little extra maintenance.

Due to the amount of particulate in this ink used to achieve the sparking look, you may experience restricted ink flow in some of your pens, especially with finer nibs.

We recommend shaking the ink thoroughly before filling, and gently rolling the pen in your hands often to keep the shimmer effect consistent. This will also help prevent clogging.

You will also want to be diligent about regularly cleaning and maintaining your pen when using this ink.

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
