ENHANCEMENT OPTIONS

To highlight the visual appeal of the material, the BENU Briolette has its entire body covered with long facets. Each cut gives the pens specific shapes that prevent them from rolling and enables the true color and brilliance of the material to emerge.

The Luminous Amber pen glows beautifully in a dark and semi-dark after an hour exposure to light. A sustained amber glow lasts for up to 12 hours, fading over time. The fluorescent luminous paints used in the pen are completely free from radioactivity and any potential hazards.

The resin body features an amber and brown base with tons of gold sparkles throughout. It has a gold-plated Schmidt stainless steel nib, a black resin grip, is clipless, and does not post. This fountain pen comes with a standard international converter and one long blue ink cartridge.

We do our best to photograph the pens to show how they will appear in person, but due to the nature of the material, there will be some variation in the pattern seen here. This adds an element of uniqueness to the pen, with no two patterns being exactly the same. We cannot honor special requests

Pen is very orange.

I was expecting the pen to be amber not orange. The color is orange, clearly orange, and not at all what I was expecting.

I want to give it five stars, but...

First it is a beautiful pen (in an unusual way) I was attracted to it the first time I saw it. It writes fairly well (with a light hand) HOWEVER, mine, at least, does not glow. Therefore, I'm a bit miffed that this $112 pen does not light as the pictures indicate - It's the principle of the thing. I know that it needs to be placed under light and I have had it under a lamp the who live-long day! Will I purchase more products from the Goulet Pen Company? Yes! Do I love The Goulet Pen Company? Of course I do, they're the best! However on this one, the pen gets three stars

Nice pen, no glow

I have always wanted to get an amber-colored pen. The fact that this one was supposed to glow in the dark was a fun "extra." Well, it is a nice pen and I'm glad I bought it, but don't count on it "glowing in the dark" to any real extent. It was under a very bright LED light for a few hours and it didn't glow at all when I turned the lights off in the room. It writes fine, looks good, feels good, but don't count on it glowing. Because the glow wasn't important to me, I certainly didn't want to send it back. If I was BENU, I wouldn't advertise it as a pen that glows.

Comfortable to Hold

Feels very nice in the hand. It doesn't "Glow" quite as long as I'd thought it would but the colors, both in normal light and glowing are wonderful.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use this pen with ink cartridges? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses standard international ink cartridges, a common size which is available in many colors from various brands.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.Ā

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors.Ā Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use ourĀ Goulet Pen FlushĀ if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when youā€™re switching ink colors.

For even more information about fountain pen cleaning, check out our Fountain Pen 101 video blog post.
