De Atramentis fountain pen inks are exclusively handmade in Germany by Dr. Franz-Josef Jansen. This 250ml plastic bottle of clear dilution liquid is designed to be used in conjunction with the waterproof Document Ink series to soften your mixed colors without losing the fountain pen ink properties.

Note: The label may say "Thinner" instead of "Dilution Liquid". Don't worry! It is the same product, just a slight change in the label.

Wonderful stuff

I use this not only to thin out Document inks but in ink mixing with other brands. (Test a small amount for compatibility before inking the mix in a pen.)

This is a very cool item. I have been having a lot of fun experimenting with it in my inks that I use for my drawings!!!Also I marked it as high in shading because when added it does aloe for more shading in whatever ink I have put it in.... I have only used on the document black and document fog grey in small amounts so far .

It was great. Just what I was looking for to dilute the DeA inks and to mix new colors/shades.

Does the job!

I wanted to dilute DeAtramentis Document Urban Grey to a lighter shade. Decided to try 50/50 and it was perfect. It's a pencil grey now. This is an excellent solution to the problem as it doesn't change the ink's lightfast or waterproof properties. The qualities marked medium below were not tested but the form wouldn't let me leave them blank.

Love mixing colors

Love the De Atramentis Dilution Liquid. I am a sketch artist and I love the ability of being able to create my own colors with the De Atramentis document ink and the additional option of being able to mix colors and control the darkness of the colors is great! And the added bonus the ink is waterproof. Love it
