The Pelikan Souverän 800 Black-Red fountain pen is a timeless classic. The rich red tone in the striped pattern of the barrel harmonizes wonderfully with the elegant deep black components and is perfectly complemented by the golden trimmings. This classic has now returned to Pelikan’s standard product range. The black and red striped barrel is made of cellulose acetate in an elaborate process. The rings and clip are finished with 24-carat gold. The bicolor 18-carat gold nib is available in a variety of EF, F, M and B nib widths. Every single writing instrument is assembled by hand and checked with the utmost care to meet the strict quality criteria.
The smooth operating piston mechanism allows you to fill this pen with bottled ink. Each pen is presented in a beautiful Pelikan gift box.

Excellent - A fine writer- something of a luxury- but beautiful addition to my collection. As stated often - it is a wet writer (F) but bearing that in mind, I enjoy using it a lot.
Beautifully designed 18K nib. Writes smoothly and quite wet! Best with a fast drying ink
I would say the nib lays down a Euro Fine. The build quality was better than I thought it would be, (Based on Feel Only.) it "feels" like the same weight and texture of a Leonardo Momento Zero I have the Prugna but the grip section is better on the M800, the gold plating on the trim is also better on the M800. I like contrasting colors of black/red, black/orange in general. And this pen with the gold appointments with the red stripes on the body and the black on the cap and piston **** is what made me want this pen based on looks alone, as I prefer to write with Japanese xf / f sized nibs. The M800 is one of my favorite pens to write with. Value: I am putting a Medium value as wile yes, I like everything about this pen, I could have gotten the M800 cheaper buying this pen out of the USA but I wanted to support a more local company as well as making sure if anything goes wrong I can ask thegouletpens.com for help on any warranty issues just in case.Quality: Selecting Very High on the M800, like I said previously this pen exceeded what I expected once I received the pen.
I love the smooth glide of the pen across the paper. And, as always, Goulet was quick with the delivery.
