A message from Robert Oster:

My great interest in fountain pen inks – and by extension inks that combine many creative applications – began with the birth of my love of fountain pens in 1989.

As Robert Oster Signature Inks are quite recent to the market, think of the interim between 1989 and today, as the fertile ground into which my present love of all things ink was seeded and grown.

The contents and packaging of my Inks are all nature friendly and the colours a genuine inventory of the Australian palette.

Robert Oster Signature originates from one of the most famous wine producing regions of the world, the Coonawarra district of South Australia, an idyllic setting with great influence on the senses. There is my inspiration. It’s a joy to share it with you.

Very Rich Ink

I recently purchased Robert Oster's "River of Fire" ink, and it has quickly become one of my favorite colors for writing. This ink exhibits a deep, balanced mix of green and teal, giving it a very rich character. The vibrant and well-blended shades offer pleasing shading properties, especially when used with my TWSBI Eco and its fine nib, which fully showcases the subtle yet exquisite variations. However, I noticed that with my Pilot Kakuno in a fine nib, the shading is less pronounced. For those who appreciate a more uniform color, this might actually be preferable. In terms of paper choice, I've found that cream paper not only enhances the ink's unique color palette but also complements its rich depths perfectly. While the sheen is minimal to nonexistent, achieving it requires very specific types of paper. Despite experimenting with various papers in my collection, I was unable to coax out any noticeable sheen. Nonetheless, the inherent qualities of this ink are so appealing that the lack of sheen hardly feels like a drawback. I am so taken with the "River of Fire" ink that I'm already planning to restock it to ensure I never run out. It's a must-have for anyone who appreciates the art of writing with beautifully crafted ink.

Beautiful color, endlessly smudgy

I really love this color, but what is holding my back from buying more than a sample is the fact that it will smudge days later. I've tried many paper types and no matter which I used it seems to transfer to my hands and then everything else, clothing, desk, etc. This happens even after days of drying. I am heartbroken.

Such a different color. This is not an ink you'd see everyday. Definitely is a creative product and love to find opportunities to use it.

Good coverage, smooth out of pen

This ink was bought because I fell in love with an orange so went on line for find other colors of subtlety. Want a blue that has the faintest hint of green,as light as if a veil of it had passed over. This Is not quite that but love it since the qualities I mention, coverage and smoothness very much here.Recommend highly. At least what I like. Each of us different.

A Beautiful Green

I've become a big fan of Robert Oster inks and this is one of my favorites. After loading up a pen from a 2 ml sample and writing a few lines of text, it was clear that I'd be ordering a full bottle. It's a beautiful shade of dark green and contains enough other color elements in the blend to keep things really interesting. I'm enjoying it as one of my primary every-day inks at the moment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.
