Blue like storm clouds! Gorgeous!

Very nice, I am loving everything that was sent to me recently, my fond regards to Goulet Pens!

Rather dry

I prefer wetter inks that don't hard-start or require burping. This was too dry for me in a Conklin Herringbone with an omniflex nib.

Great Interesting Blue

Although I too hoped it would have that very red sheen all the time I still love the ink. Its a beautiful blue that is interesting without being flashy. The red sheen appears at certain angles and on certain papers and also tends to outline the ink itself.

A nice shade of blue, don't count on sheen

This is a nice shade of blue, not as vibrant as Kon-peki, but a little more muted shade in that general vicinity. It seems a bit more elegant in that way, being a beautiful blue without overwhelming blueness. Now, I first got the ink because of the pictures of the sheen, and I tried it out on Tomoe River paper, which I think is how most of the pictures of it on the Goulet web site are made. Just writing with it, however, I get little to no sheen. If I put a big blob on the paper, then I do see the reddish sheen, especially at certain angles, but I try not to get big blobs of ink on my paper as a general rule. I would buy the ink for the beautiful blue, but not with any expectations of sheening.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
