Color seems pinker in the picture

To tell you the truth, I love the feel of the ink but the color is more orangy than I'd like. I know that each computer or phone or iPad shows color differently. That's why I buy samples before committing!

Great Red

It's a great red - it matches my company's logo and the red of my alma mater, not that I'm biased or anything. Also, it's always smooth - even in my more temperamental pens and even if I've left the pen uncapped for a few hours.

Great red.

I really like the color of this ink. It is great for a teacher.

A nice deep scarlet

This is a very nice, dark, almost blood-red. I have it in a flex nib and there's a lot of nice shading. Unlike lighter reds, it doesn't feel strenuous to read with this ink; it's dark enough for good contrast.

A bit too pink

I like the flow of this ink, but its too light. Reminds me of a dark pink. Still, if you like pinks, then this is your ink.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
