Vibrant, yet dignified color!

I bought this as a test, and I'm happy with the results. The color is vibrant, yet dignified; that's how I can best express it. The color itself performed well on rhodia and on high quality paper I bought from staples (90 gms). It did not bleed through nor did it feather out. Drying time was a bit long, but not cumbersome enough to wait for.. I used a Noodlers Ahab (Vulcan's Coral) and the color matched the pen perfectly.

Saturated Red, Long Dry Time

Beautiful heavily-saturated red with more purple than Noodler's Red-Black. Shading at the tops of lines. Some halo. No feathering or spread. My issue is that in my Jinhao X450 with a Broad nib, I'm seeing smearing after 10 minutes. I would love this ink if not for that. Also, water resistance is always nice.

bland

very bland shade of red. from the three shades of red that I have of noodler's, this is the least noteworthy.

Great Shade of Red

I have been using Nikita Red exclusively for quite a while. The Ottoman Rose is nice change. It has enough purple hue to make it interesting. It flows well and does not bleed through. I've been using it for a month and I still can't get enough of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
