The Pineider Avatar UR Twin Tank Touchdown, or Avatar TTT for short, takes some of the best of the original Avatar's features like the "Unbreakable Resin" material, and adds a new filling mechanism. The Twin Tank Touchdown features two ink chambers: one large ink reservoir that serves as a reserve for longer writing sessions, and a small ink reservoir that is always connected to the nib for shorter writing sessions.
The ink is drawn up into the pen via the vacuum filler on the back of the barrel. The piston knob can be set in either a "lock" or "unlock" position. "Lock" prevents ink from the larger reservoir from entering the smaller ink reservoir and also helps prevent ink leakage in transit. "Unlock" allows continuous ink flow between the two ink chambers for longer writing sessions.
This fountain pen is made from a material called "Unbreakable Resin", or UR for short, that is highly resistant to cracks or damage if dropped. The barrel is a translucent blue, and the cap and piston knob are a swirly opaque blue. It is complemented by silver trim, features a magnetic cap closure, and comes equipped with a #6 sized steel nib.
