This is undeniably one of my new favorite pens. The build quality is great, it looks and feels amazing, and it may in fact be the smoothest nib I have. I'm so glad I picked this up

The Kaweco Piston Fill pen might become one of my favorite writing instruments. I love the size, the shape, but most of all the way it writes. I got the Fine nib and it is quite wet and gives a smooth experience. Already am tempted to use it as my everyday carry pen.

Oh, it's just another same old Kaweco Sport in a new finish, right? WRONG! This is truly the pinnacle of Kaweco Sport Engineering! If you like the size and styling of the Kaweco Sport lineup, you won't be too surprised. About 4mm shorter (when capped) than a standard Sport, it has the same '060' nib, in gold colored stainless steel in five sizes from to , which are the same as standard Sport models. The screw in nib unit is not interchangeable with the standard Sport's nib unit, since it's a little shorter and has a rubber o-ring near the nib end to prevent leaks. The filling mechanism can be described as a 'captured converter', meaning it works like a regular cartridge converter, but cannot be removed by the user. The piston rod has a double lamelle piston head to ensure a good seal and a long service life. The **** is at the opposite end of the pen from the nib, and is covered and protected by a blind cap. To fill the pen's reservoir, you have to remove the blind cap first, fill/top off the ink reservoir (up to 1.2 ml), and screw the blind cap back on. This will prevent unintended ink discharges from accidentally turning the filler ****. The cap posts securely. When removing the posted cap, there's a chance of loosening the blind cap if you twist the cap counter clockwise. So, if you must twist the cap to overcome friction, always twist it clockwise. The grip section is the same size as a standard Sport pen's, and the capping threads are equally unobtrusive. I opted for the nib, reluctantly, because my experience with nibs, especially Kaweco nibs, has not been the best. But choices were limited, and this was the least undesirable option for me. And I was wrong! The nib on my pen is by far the smoothest nib, straight out of the box, of any nibbed pen I've ever bought! Very smooth, especially for an nib, no hard starts, no skippingnothing but hours of just writing without any thoughts about the function of the pen. To me, that's how a pen should be: unnoticed while writing; it excels at shrinking into the background, and while writing, you're not going to be distracted by its need for attention. In some ways, it's like a VW Typ 1 (the original Beetle): it goes, and goes, and goesAnd thanks to almost twice the ink reservoir capacity compared to a international short cartridge AND an very visible ink window, 'range anxiety' is no longer an issue when leaving your residence with this pen as your only writing utensil.
