More Pink than a Firey Red

I was a little underwhelmed with the color as it was very light and more of a coral pink/orange. I am used to Noodlers inks being more saturated and this one wasn't. The color only gets lighter when not swatched but written with a medium or fine nib. Doesn't really fit the Dragon moniker.

Fun pinky-orange

I'm digging this fun color, which is pinker than expected, almost coral, but I actually like it better than the swatch online :) My cat spilled some water on a page of notes so I can say water basically wipes it out completely, but I'll just keep my cat away ;)

3.5 Stars It's more of a light peachy coral color. Neither orangey but not a sharp red either

Mhm this ink was neither wet or dry on my JinHao 599. But the nib probably needs tuning. I'm not a fan of the color. Goulet's picture sample is more orange than my experience with the ink. It behaved pretty well even with not great paper (Staples computer paper/mole skin)

Well behaved but not a vibrant red

It dries quickly even with a stub nib, but it comes off as more of a pale pinkish orange than a vibrant red like it looks in the sample images. (Granted color accuracy on screens can never be perfect, so I don't blame Goulet, just something to keep in mind)Overall it's a well behaving ink on the drier side, doesn't shade a lot but does get a little more red with multiple layers but if you're looking for like a 'correction red' type color you'll either need a really wet pen or a different ink in my opinion.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
