Sailor Pro Gear Slim Fountain Pen - Yuzuyu

This fountain pen, Yuzuyu, is the essence of a yuzu citrus bath – a remedy said to ward off colds during the winter season – with a shimmering freshwater blue barrel set against yuzu yellow finials.
The Sailor Pro Gear Slim fountain pen is equipped with a 14k gold nib in fine, medium fine, or medium. The flat top cap features the Sailor anchor logo inset into the top finial. The cap screws to open/close and can push to post onto the back of the barrel when writing.
The Professional Gear Slim fountain pen comes with a Sailor proprietary converter as well as two proprietary Sailor Black ink cartridges.

Customer Reviews
I've heard a lot of things regarding sailor pens. I've heard they're scratchy, toothy, grainy which discouraged me from trying one? However, I chose to go with my gut and basically cannonball myself into the pool instead of getting my feet wet-- I do not regret it. Sailor's Solar Term series, I got Yuzuyu once Goulet notified me, keeps wowing me. At first, I was looking for a striking pen that's somewhat matte. This pen's contrasting blue body and yellow finials had me hooked the first time I saw it listed, not to mention this beautiful subtle glitter it has when put under the light. Now, the nib has garnered many controversial points. I am here to say that I can see how some people may be thrned off from Sailor's feedback. However, I love writing with this pen, the feedback isn't even something I would describe as toothy but rather a sensation similar to writing with a pencil. It's less of a "toothy" or "grabby" sound you get from writing with a scratchy fountain pen but more of a texture on the paper. It is a dry writer, I found, but it's also possible it's due to my ink as I use Diamine Polar Glow on my Sailor PGS Yuzuyu. Gushing more about the nib more-- this nib exceeded my expectations because it handled bad quality paper well from where I work/study. My previous fine/ extra fine fountain pens tear the paper and produce nib crud that I have to wipe off lest I want my writing to look "fat" or broader than I want due to the dyed paper fibers my previous pens accrued.Sailor's nib-- flawlessly writes on this paper which surprised me the most. Overall, this pen is one of the most beautiful pens I have seen, and one of the best writers I've had-- it's an easy recommend. However, I do wish Sailor's packaging had more pizzaz, but I did not mind the unboxing experience.
