Diamine graphite

It's great ink, but a little more on the pure grey side. I was hoping for something a little darker.

A nice Grey-Green ink

I was not initially impressed with the color, hoping it would be a darker grey, but after using it some more, it has grown on me because it has a green hue.

It's like liquid pencil!

Like the title says. It's a dark grey that in a normal pen looks like pencil lead. A super wet writer will look black.Manners are great, no feathering, quick drying, a little shading. If you want a grey ink, this one is plenty dark enough for professional use. Just a cool color.

My unexpected favorite ink!

I bought this sample on a whim because I heard it looked like pencil when written and i thought that sounded sort of odd. I ended up loving this ink and it's now one of the two inks I use in my pens at work. The shade of grey when it dries is bright and clear, with just the right amount of contrast against the page.

Has a very noticeable olive greenish cast

This is definitely not a neutral gray, as it has a very noticeable olive greenish cast/tint to it. However, like all Diamines I've tried it is very well behaved and a great value, especially in the 80 ml bottle. Personally, I strongly prefer the perfectly neutral gray color of Diamine Grey, but the aforementioned olive greenish tint of Diamine Graphite makes it a *perfect* match for the LAMY Safari, Charcoal if you enjoy matching your inks to your pens. Oh, and to me it seemed like Diamine Graphite is a bit less wet (and maybe dries even more quickly) than the other Diamine inks I've tried thus far.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
