Not the color I thought it would be. On my screen it looked grey with a purple undertone, but it very much a tonal blue. I still gave it full marks because it is dries amazing fast. (7 sec. On kokuyo campus paper) and is pretty much water proof.

This color is good and well behaved.

I tried a few samples of the de atramentis document ink and fog Grey was definitely my favorite. I will be buying more of this. I tested them all on several different types of paper and it seems to be truly waterproof

This is my favorite saturated permanent ink when I'm using decent paper (anything Goulet sells). I prefer a Western EF or Japanese F with this ink because it's wet and flows so well. It's subtle but unique, wonderful for both writing in professional settings and for drawing. I bought a one sample, and received a couple more samples in surprise me sets. It's time to order a bottle!

I was not impressed by this ink. The color is great. In fact, I'd say it's perfect. Just the right amount of blue in the grey, and just the right saturation. But there is hardly any shading even on low absorbent paper like Rhodia or Tomoe River. On pretty much anything else, even fountain pen friendly paper, it looks flat. Worse, on even fountain pen friendly paper it can bleed! I haven't seen any feathering, but I have seen plenty of bleeding. If you are getting this for the office because you think it will be acceptable, think again unless you can choose your own paper, and that paper is Tomoe River. Alternatively, I suppose you might be able to put this in a dry writer with an extra-fine nib. The driest writer I used was a fine Diplomat Traveler with the nib pinch closed or a medium Pilot Metro (both write about the same with the Metro being a tad broader and drier).
