A beautiful warm gold with high shading

I couldn't get enough of this ink when I first used it. It's a great color to use in the fall. No sheen, but you get a lot of shading. It's well-behaved, good flow, not too saturated so it feels light and wet. If you're a fan of yellows and browns, this is a good one to try.

Meeehhh

Despite a beautiful golden color, this ink is way too much light for my taste. Gorgeous color that's a 10/10 ! But to be honest if you want to see any shading use it from a european medium to stub nibs... the more bold the better it get. Not great with fine or extra-fine you barely will see anything. Although it can be interesting if you want to do a vintage/old look journaling. I love the brand anyway but not fan of this one. P.S. even though this color is quite pale, the perfect combo is with monteverde pen (my invicia is in the dry side and this ink shows her beauty with it)

Outstanding ink!! Love the color, also the way it lays down on my Rhodia paper. Used this ink in my Waterman Carene with a medium nib. I would highly recommend this ink. I would also highly recommend Goulet Pens!!

One of my favorite inks

I use this in my daily checklist to mark done items. The color reminds me of the gold stars my kindergarten teachers gave out for good behavior. ;) But it's also a rich, buttery yellow-gold that, when used sparingly with black or gray writing, gives everything a touch of elegance. It also washes off nicely if I get any on my hands (my pens can be leaky at times). The only con I would say is that it has a longer drying time than some other colors. I often smudge it, because I'm writing quickly and am impatient. But when I say slow, I still mean less than a minute. This is not at a difficult ink to use and the drying time is really not an issue at all most of the time.

Beautiful Ink

I bought this Apache Sunset ink to go with a Noodler's Ahab flex. It is a beautiful color, darkening at the bottom and lighter at the top. Since I bought I bought it as a gift, I was pretty bummed after seeing it that I had to give it away. I'm going to have to order some for myself.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
