Very nice

It's a nice ink, to me it's similar to Noodler's Liberty's Elysium in color.

Risky with good paper, great with cheap paper.

This ink was my new favorite blue at work on cheap paper. Dries quickly, no feathering, and beautiful to my eyes. I used it in my journal, and two days later my hand smeared it everywhere. I heavily recommend it for cheap paper and heavy caution it for high quality paper as it will never fully dry.

It's Intriguing

This ink intrigues me so much. I got it as a surprise-me sample a month or two ago, and I just got around to loading it into my Lamy Safari, which I've been using with a leftie nib. I enjoy the blue color so much -- it's a little darker than the swatch suggests, and a really distinct navy blue color. I absolutely love the amount of shading with this ink, and I only noticed that it does have some sheening properties once I read others' reviews. The best part is that it handles writing on cheap office paper really well. The amount of feathering is minimal (on said cheap paper), it still maintains a good amount of shading, and it is a good color to fit in around an office. My only qualm is that the dry time is a little on the slow side on better quality paper, namely Rhodia or Tomoe River papers. Both papers show off the shading so well, but it's difficult to use without smudging as a leftie. I'm on the fence as to whether I will get a full bottle of this. It's a little more expensive than comparable inks, but the color is so lovely. We will see.

Very dark, not much sheen

After reading the reviews and looking at the pictues on the website... This ink is not what I expected. I have tried it in in a fine nib and a flex nib on tomoe river and rhodia. It is so dark as to look black unless you take a second look. I would best describe it as a true blue, but very dark and with a hint of purple. As far as the sheen goes... It has sheen, but not red as pictured or described. The sheen is just sort of black, or maybe the same dark blue as the ink. The letters just sort of shine in the light. I have seen red sheen in emerald of chivor and Robert oster aqua. This is not like that. At least it wasn't for me.

Great ink!

I am enjoying Diamine Majestic Blue. It has great ink flow with my Pilot VP. And I love the color.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
