Wonderful flow. I have this in a Pilot Metropolitan with a medium nib. I wish I had parchment paper to really set the tone of what this ink can do.

I bought this ink because the swab on line looks kinda purpleish but it is more of a brown hue. I absolutely love the color. I like the way the ink flows and how regal it looks on bond paper. I love the dry time. It got on my fingers when I was inking my pen and it was no trouble to get off my fingers at all.

I've had this sample for a while and forgot about it ... lo and behold, I used it in a tester Preppy today and its fascinating, antique-authentic brown-purple matches my new Lamy Logo pen's unusual 'Twilight' color ... perfectly! (see the review of the full bottle that discusses what 'black' ink the real JSBach used for the historical background on this ink)The swatch displayed doesn't do this ink justice, it is far too burgundy-black in appearance but then I'm not sure any scanned image could possibly represent the intriguing combination of colors that comprises 'JSBach.'I adore the De Atramentis inks I've tried thus far: they've been as well-behaved as Diamine inks, as intriguingly formulated as a fine painter's palette of color, and come from the hands of an individual artisan ... one cannot ask for more from a production ink!Oh, De Atramentis - your 'Aubergine' fascinated me and your 'JSBach' has me utterly captivated!

It is hard to say what color this ink really is. The photos online suggests it is a purple color, but when I put it into my fine nib Al-star it looks more like brown. However, it looks closer to purple with broad nib. It is really an interesting color, you must try to see just how amazing it is.

I absolutely adore this ink! It's a nice burgundy-brown and looks fantastic in my little knock-off journal :) There's minimal feathering and it flows out of my Metro smoothly! I love it to pieces, I really do! I think I'm going to need about a million more bottles of this for class!
