Love the color but it bleeds

Glad I bought a sample because this ink bled on my Rhodia and Leuchtturm papers. I've had this happen with one other permanent ink, Noodler's Polar Green. Using a Fine Lamy Safari nib. Your milage may vary. But hey it's only $2, give it a try.

Lovely, well behaved

First up: I only use water-proof or at least water-resistant inks. This was my first non-Noodler's purchase and I am loving it. It's still a wet ink, but not as wet as others, and it's very permanent. (I can't post pictures, but it survived 30-seconds of running water from a tap.) Now I have to get the magenta, yellow, and black and start playing with CMYK blends.

Behaves Very Differently from Document Black

The color is great, but its behavior on paper is too different from the black variant. While the black ink stays put on the paper, the cyan ink spreads out a bit. This results in a loss of crispness that I love about Document Black.

Great ink

This ink is a really pretty blue color that flows well and is quite waterproof. Really enjoying it and ended up buying the full bottle.

Impossible to Control

The line width is very much greater than what is coming off the nib, with the flow of the ink on the paper being quite excessive. Obviously this can depend on the paper too, but I am using quite a good quality for the testing. The color is a light blue with a slight sheen. It does not shade especially, though this may be because I am writing fast to lessen the splurging. I did not enjoy using this ink and would find it hopelessly impractical for day to day use.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
