Dark Chocolate Brown

A nice, very dark and readable chocolate brown. Not the color for me, but still a great ink.

Love this one

Flows well and has a crisp chocolate-covered-cherry color.Gosh I wish it weren't water soluble.

Bitter Chocolate

Milk chocolate going onto the page, bitter chocolate as it dries! Not necessarily a color I would choose, its general properties like flow and consistency make it good for a regular day to day ink. It could do with a little more shading, though overall it is a good alternative to black.

Beautiful

This ink is exactly what the name implies: a rich chocolatey brown. I've used it in my ECO broad on L1917 paper and it was beautifully wet with moderate shading.

Bad Batch?

My experience has been VERY different to most other reviewers of this ink. It has been my least saturated and slowest flowing ink so far. I am using my normally juicy Jinhao x750. The dry times for me are very fast compared to most inks. I like the color and there is zero feathering, even on cheap paper, but the flow is so bad I can't even finish using the sample. If the flow was wetter, this would probably be my brown of choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
