It's pretty dark, but it's nice

A dark red ink is always fun...but just know that this one is actually quite dark. They probably could have named this "Red/Black" and it would have fit. If you're looking for something that is subtle and appears close to black, this might be the one for you. Pick it up and see what you think!

Perfect for when you want to bleed words on paper

I could not resist trying out this ink for the name alone and it's almost got me wondering if its enchanted because once I wrote with this ink I was so obsessed with writing that I used up the sample which never happened to me before. Hence this ink earned it's spot as a permanent ink in my rotation.

Writer's Blood

I wanted a dark red, but I bought this one in a sample because many photo swatches make it look a bit purple. Well, once this sample arrived and I used it in person, it went onto the page as more of a rich, depth-ful dark red like I'd hoped. It flows really, really easily, without flooding the paper. I have been enjoying using this ink with cream/yellowish paper and "feeling classical." Will definitely be buying a bottle once I'm done with the sample.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
