I find the Original Crown Mill Pure Cotton Small Envelopes to be a great envelope for use with my fountain pens as well as others. The size is perfect for use with the flat card-stock on which I like to write notes.

To improve fountain pen correspondence, I needed C6 size envelopes to use with thin, lightweight (52 gsm) Japanese Tomoe River A5 size paper. I had found that G. Lalo Verge De France envelopes (114 x 162 mm) is excellent, but they must be ordered from Europe. So I ordered these Original Crown Mill Pure Cotton Small Envelopes from Goulet.While generally acceptable, the Crown Mill envelopes are heavier and thicker than G. Lalo envelopes, which I still prefer. I was disappointed that Crown Mill envelope 'liners' can be crimped or poorly installed. The liners can impede inserting the lightweight Tomoe River stationery.

The Original Crown Mill stationery and envelopes are perfect for written correspondence. The paper is smooth and a light cream color.
