The bulb syringe is an excellent tool. But beware that stagnant normal faucet water has algae in it, and if it stands in the bulb for days, in warm conditions it will form mats of algae within, which can spurt out into your fountain pen. To avoid this, clean your bulb syringe carefully after each use, and keep it dry when not used. I had an unpleasant surprise testing it after letting water remain in it all summer, and it would have destroyed my feed in my fountain pen. Luckily I noticed it. Do not ever drink water from a device like a bulb syringe, it is likely contaminated with bacteria and algae.
