This oversized Sailor King of Pens fountain pen features a gorgeous ebonite cap, barrel and grip section. Each MOUKO pen is meticulously crafted with a 21K gold KOP Naginata Togi nib, renowned for its exceptional writing quality and durability. The body of the pen is fashioned from colored ebonite using the intricate "Chirashi" technique, resulting in a unique pattern that ensures no two pens are alike. Sailor lavishly and intricately layers multiple coats of colored ebonite onto the fountain pen’s body, creating a depth of color and texture that is truly remarkable.

Drawing inspiration from the illustrious Japanese painting "Tiger" by Jakuchu Ito, the MOUKO pen mirrors the vivid hues and striking contrast of brownish-yellow and black that characterize the original artwork. The name "MOUKO," meaning ferocious tiger, is a tribute to the bold and dynamic appearance of the pen, evoking the powerful imagery of Jakuchu's depiction of the tiger.

Each MOUKO pen is engraved with a serial number, emphasizing its exclusivity and making it a collectible item for discerning customers. With a global limitation of just 500 pieces, this pen is a rare treasure. The luxurious presentation box, covered in leather and lined with elegant Chirimen fabric, further enhances the pen's appeal as a sophisticated and thoughtful gift. The beautiful gift box includes the pen, a 50mL bottle of black Sailor ink, a gold trim converter, a cleaning cloth, two black ink cartridges, and a North America Sailor warranty card.

MOUKO is a limited edition of only 500 pieces worldwide, made available only through authorized Sailor Bespoke dealers. Each pen is individually numbered.

This special Naginata Togi nib allows you to write with a thin line when holding the pen vertically upright, or with a thicker line when holding the pen at a lower writing angle. In this way it’s similar to a Sailor Zoom nib. It also is ground so that it writes thicker on the cross stroke and thinner on the down stroke, like an Architect nib. It’s really a blend of Zoom and Architect, which is quite unique and not available from any other pen manufacturer.

Stunner!! And what a nib.

Just as beautiful as it appears in the pics. Fantastic piece of work in ebonite which also has a lovely feel too. The nib is extraordinary - see the smile on Brian’s face when he reviews it. Once experienced, never bettered.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill this fountain pen from an ink cartridge? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses proprietary Sailor ink cartridges, which are available in a wide range of colors.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.

For even more information about fountain pen cleaning, check out our Fountain Pen 101 video blog post.
