It was bought as a basic waterproof blue. 10 out of 10! Amazing how waterproof it is. I left a piece of paper in a water bath overnight. It was still legible in the morning. I destroyed the paper when I pulled it out of the water. No feathering.

While it still bleeds-through copy paper, it doesn't feather badly. Also writes well on thermal paper (if that's useful), where Noodler's Baystate Blue tended to feather and separate into a black line surrounded by a blue haze.

This ink flows well and dries daily quickly I will be ordering more.

Excellent. I have/own(ed) a zillion blue inks, largely Noodler's, Namiki, Iroshizuku, Aurora, Waterman, but bought this one on a whim after buying a Sailor 1911 Compass pen in blue -- and I haven't looked back. I love the Waterman's Serenity Blue, it was the only blue I used for years, but it washes away in a sneeze. The Noodler's blues tend to be either too vibrant (BSB) or too tealish, I prefer the reddened-blue end of things -- and I really really wanted waterfastness and reasonable dry time and not to clog up my pen all the time. This one does it. I haven't tried it for sketching/watercolor doodling (I use D'Atramentis Archive Black for that, even Noodler's Black tends to seep a teeny bit of black into a wash), but that's not what I bought it for. It shades well on Rhodia planner paper, doesn't feather or spread much on cheap receipt paper, Staple's brand 3x5 czards, brown paper bags, or manila padded envelopes. It probably line-spreads a little on cheap copier paper, but it's a great little ink if you want your words to withstand the weather on an envelope, spilled beverages on a letter, or spilled tears on a love poem. ;-D

This ink behaves like a more feather-prone Noodler's black, that combined with its smoothness makes it a good workhorse ink. It behaves well in the pen and does not feel different from regular dye-based ink. It does stain a little if you keep it there for significant periods of time, however.On paper, It is a little more prone to feathering and bleed-through than Noodler's black but behaves well on most papers. It dries at about the same rate as Noodler's black and has similar wetness to Noodler's black. It is also as resistant to the elements as Noodler's black. Colour-wise, it behaves interestingly. On more absorbent papers this ink is a mature, muted blue. It looks like any other workhorse blue and shades rather nicely. On less absorbent papers, this ink displays a slightly higher saturation and vibrancy, it gains a gel-pen-like look (which shouldn't be surprising given it's a pigment-based ink) and shades extremely well.Overall, this seems like a good workhorse blue ink.
