Namiki Chinkin Fountain Pen - Kinshu
This Namiki Chinkin fountain pen was created by the renowned artisan, Yasuji Sumi, in Japan. The pen matches the Yukari size but with a flat top, and is fitted with an 18k gold nib in the #10 size. It fills via Pilot/Namiki cartridge/converter (a CON-70 is included), and comes packaged in a velvet-lined wooden box.
This incredible Kinshu, or Beauty of Autumns Leaves, fountain pen features a stunning carp motif surrounded by elegant autumn leaves, painstakingly etched, and filled in with gold powder.
The leaves were designed based on Momiji, or Japanese maple trees. These leaves are comparable to exquisiteness of brocade silk – richly decorative silks woven with multicolored threads.
The symbolism of the Carp is said to be an incarnation of dragons and are symbols of luck and good fortune.
The delicate and fine depiction and three-dimensional aspect overflowing with a strong power of expression are the special characteristics of the Chinkin collection. Each pen is truly a masterpiece. Motifs are carved into the lacquered surface with special chisels, and after inlaying lacquer in the grooves, placing gold leaves and gold powder gives the pattern expression.
