I have a No 159 pen from Jinhao and it is quite ok. Never forget the rather economical price. This X159 with a fine nib is definitely topping the No 159. This is the more accurate nib as well as all screw threads which are now more precise with the X159 ... still at a very economical (if not to say ridiculously low) price. Its measures and grip give you an idea how it could feel using a "cigar" type fountain pen of an advanced price level. If you are not sure about investing in a "cigar" the Jinhao X159 can help you to find out. By the way, the nib even writes perfectly and the tip glides on the paper. Compared to my 159 now with the X159 the converter is well held. Give it a try
Despite not being the perfect fit for me, the X159 is well-made and writes smoothly. Those looking for a larger, affordable fountain pen with a great nib should strongly consider this model.
Bought this pen to get more into trying inks out, and coming with a converter was a bonus. One day I would love to get a 149 but for the time being this will do. It's very comfortable and I like the weight of it. Only thing I will be doing in the future is probably bumping up to a medium nib. Overall I am very happy to have added this pen in my growing collection.

I really like it. The converter engages a lot better than some of my Kawecos. The only downside here is that the grip is not breathable at all but that is not necessarily a fault of the pen, as it is plastic after all. Slight roughness in the threading but that is of no real consequence. Really nice writer! Cannot speak to the sealing qualities.
