Love this color

This is my second bottle of Aurora Borealis. I love this ink color. This is my primary ink color and I use it multiple pens.

My favorite (colored) ink!

I think the color of this ink is perfect. The sort of dark teal is my favorite color, and this nails it. I feel like I never really hear about it and I'm considering ordering another bottle as backup in case it gets discontinued! For how it behaves, I would say it washes out of demonstrator pens nicely with no staining, and it is moderately wet like most diamine inks. With your broader or western nibs, it feels great, but in my fine Japanese nibs it doesn't flow as well as I prefer. I do prefer a wet ink, though. I'm learning that Japanese nibs work best with Japanese - especially pilot - inks that seem to me to be a little more watery, and this one does not buck that trend. But I love it and if you are using anything broader than an XF/F, I highly recommend it!

Amazing ink

This is my 3rd bottle of this ink. It is very well behaved and the color is amazing. I highly recommend giving this ink a try.

Teal GREEN

This a wonder shade of teal. So many tend toward blue and this one moves to the green. Flows nice in fine to stub nibs. Dries quickly even on Tomoe River paper. I haven't tested water resistance so I can't speak to that quality. It offers some shading but not an extreme amount.

Diamine Aurora Borealis

The Aurora Borealis is fantastic! It is a nicely wet, quick drying and an overall very attractive ink. Although at first I had feathering problems with it, considering that it has a fairly wet flow, I overcame the problem and now am very happy that I bought it. The ink matches nicely with the new 2023 Lamy Al-Star Petrol. This was my first experience with Diamine inks and I can surely say that it won't be the last. Thanks to Goulet Pens!

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.
