I am using this Master Notebook as a commonplace notebook to compile notes based on commentaries on biblical texts. The paper is ideal for fountain pens, the lines are wide enough for comfortable writing. The size gives me plenty of room for continuing/completing a thought or copying a text. The number of pages will allow me to get up to a year's worth of material. The table of contents and numbered pages are excellent for quick reference--as are the two bookmarks. I am glad that I bought this product and the rapid shipping and excellent customer service.

This is the second one I've ordered from Goulet. This size is hard to find anywhere. I love the oversized paper, the extra heavy end papers, the wider lines (which allow me to see what I write & edit as needed), not to mention playing with calligraphy! Paper weight of 100 gsm to me is a tiny bit on the thin side but I can now use my fountain pens if they are extra fine to fine point nib, anything heavier does bleed & shadow. I get some bleed-through with dotting my I's and punctuation. Noticed no feathering nor much shadowing through the paper either. I wish someone would create a notebook with at least 110 or heavier gsm, but these are now non-existent. Not used to having page numbers at the bottom & having headers on every page. The cover isn't what I consider a hard cover, a small amount of flex does not make it a hardcover. It's pity they only make this size in black. I think it would look stunning in the some of the newest colors Leuchtturm has come out with, i.e. salmon, dark green, ink, to name a few. And finally, the only real drawback I find irksome is the weird number of sheets/pages every company seems to be doing. Only 235 pages? Really? Why stop there? Why not go to a nice round number like 250, 300, or even 400 pages? {Although at 400 pages it would make the thing a full-fledged weapon: it'd weigh a ton!} I ended up creating extra sheets to round it up to where I like it, in this case, 250 pages. The notebook comes well-kitted out with the exterior elastic band, 2 ribbon markers, a 2-page table of contents (converted to listing notable dates on), full size pocket at the back (I always have to add my own pockets to my notebooks), and the labels. I think I've forgotten something, but it's been a long day. All that being said, I like this notebook, it's growing on me. I think I will be buying more.

I picked this up, in part, to better my handwriting when using wet, broad, or stub nibs. I use the 120gsm A5 notebooks with smaller ruling for notes and journaling which is great, but the 80gsm ones have often had more show/through or bleed than I'd like (I totally get that it's normal, but I find it a bit distracting). The 100gsm paper in this A4+ as well as the larger ruling has really held up well to ink flooded on w/ the Opus 88 1.5 stub with little to no show-through and the additional line width means I sometimes have a fighting chance of making sure 'e' and 'c' don't look exactly the same. I haven't gotten into more ink-resistant papers yet, but the Leuchttrums have served me well and do allow for a decent amount of shading even with finer nibs.

As someone who writes big and doodles in the margins, this notebook is absolutely perfect. I'm able to get so much on every page and keep my thoughts organized. Keeping the flow of what I'm writing has never been easier.

I've used several of these for my journal and I love them. They are great size, the paper quality it really good, and the different inks I use neither feather or bleed through.
