I love Noodlers inks they always perform so well in all my fountain pens. This is the perfect brown and you always get a full bottle.

I'm on my third bottle of Noodler's Beaver and continuing to love it. I like a quieter (and dryer) brown for writing marginalia with a very fine nib, but Beaver is excellent for writing letters, journaling, and just plain notes.

Another hit from Nathan at Noodler's Ink. This is a nice reddish brown ink that is pleasing to my eye. I have purchased a bottle after trying a sample. I like it enough to add it to my rotation of journaling colors.

Most of the brown inks lean toward yellowish brown or greenish brown, or just neutral brown. There are not many reddish brown inks out there that don't call themselves brownish red. Noodler's Beaver and Diamine Rustic Brown are both reddish brown, and both are in my lineup of favorite inks.

Noodler's ****** is a great ink. The brown color is... brown. It doesn't go down looking dirty. It has no red or yellow tint. Whether you lay it down wet or move a 4b wide nib quickly across the paper you're going to get a nice color... dark to light in hue. I use a 4b nib more often than not and it does shade well. Upper half of the letters with a light tone and it starts to darken about halfway down. It feels as smooth as a Noodler's Eel ink in my opinion. Lines come out sharp and in tact. No feathering. It's also done very well as a daily writer ink(using an Ahab with an untipped, non flex nib). It's just wet enough to keep the flow you need but it doesn't pool up on the paper. Try this one. It's good!
