Best quality notebook I have ever owned

This notebook is flawless. My TWSBI Eco pens write easily on the super smooth paper with no feathering or bleed through. I've tried a few other notebooks but after this Apica notebook, I will be staying with this for the future.

Apica Premium CD A4 Notebook - Blue, Lined

It looks like a premium book, feels like a premium book, but you better like dry writing pens if you want to use both sides of the page. The book lays completely flat no matter what page you turn to, with a light finger slide against the center. One of the better ones I've seen with this many pages. The paper feel is crazy smooth but not so slick that I had pens that would not start writing with the slightest movement of the nib. Writing on the paper was very pleasant. I used multiple pens and nibs. Using a variety of Inks and medium to very light pressure, anything that even hinted at being wet left ghosting where the ghost was pushing through the walls. By that I mean there were little dots all along the ghost image of the text with the wetter inks and just ghost images of varying degrees on the less wet inks. Lexington Gray (which I like using for notes), was the most obvious with the little pale blue halos it leaves around the text edges when it starts to come through a page. All that said, if you can stay away from wetter inks, this is a really good notebook. The ink color did not seem to impact ghosting, don't have to wrestle with it to write in it, Paper feel is great, no feathering for anything I tested. The ruling was is a little larger than I like, but it helps to force a cleaner look to your notes. The rule lines were relatively light which makes them effectively disappear after writing on them. Lots of positives, but Clairfontaine paper has spoiled me when it comes to ghosting/bleed through. I will still use this notebook, enjoy the crazy smooth paper, and continue the search.

The finest paper in my collection!

Yes, I do have all the papers you read people use to get shading and other things. For me, it's all about loving to just write things down. From that point of view, I love this paper! I have most of the brands the Goulets carry, but I do my writing tests in these notebooks. I bought a wide range of papers/notebooks (mostly lined) so I could write/test and compare them to each other. I tend to use multiples at one time, to keep categories, and I've used them from everything from classic journaling, to charting oil paints! I have 3 favorites now, Apica CD series, for compact and targeted and smaller project oriented noting, Quo Vadis for travel journaling, and these for my daily writing. These notbooks are compact and still have a lot of paper. They are pricey but filled with paper and extremely high quality. They are so finely put together that I had to look under bright light to make sure they are stitched. Oh yes indeed. But the signatures or w/e you call them are very small, and there are so many in this book you can hardly tell that the thing is stitch bound. Apparently I'm not the only one who has to do a double look. Apica smartly colored the outside stiches so you can see the center of the signature. As for paper, it is absolutely beautiful to write on! I'm not into calligraphy, I just write by hand for the kinetic and tactile joy of it. If I could make a wishlist for this notebook, it's that they mixed up the cover colors with the formats .. 'cause I love the red but hate graph paper. On the other hand, if they ever get to making dot grid paper, I would love that in these notebooks.
